5 LB propane tank

I have a 5 LB propane tank with the "old" style valve. Does anybody know the cost of replacing the "old" valve with the "new" trianular shaped ones?

Is it more cost-effective to just go and buy a new one???

Give any propane supplier a call. Suburban, Ferrel, Lakes Gas, can all help you with this. On the other hand a couple bucks at the farm and your ready to go with a brand new tank.

I had mine replaced, and if memory serves correctly, it was 18 bucks with the fill. Actually, I found the tank at the local recycle station - looks BRAND new, not a scratch or rust or anything, so I snagged it and took it over to my propane dealer for the new valve and fill. New tanks tend to run $35-40.....

I also have an old 5 lb tank, I checked with my local propane supplier, it is cheaper to buy a new tank than replaceing the valve. new tank=$38.00, replace the valve=$45.00
