long-term boat storage

oldbullhauler

Question

Hi gang. A buddy had a dealer winterize his boat last fall. He is now deployed to Iraq.
Any downside to letting the boat sit in storage for over a year (2 winters)?
Or, does it need to be taken out a time or two and then be winterized again this fall?
Thanks

Nice try. Quite a convenient excuse to take 'er out for a spin. grin.gif lol But on the serious side, out at the shop here we've seen them in storage alot longer than that. Rmh20 is right about the fuel though. Stabilizer is only good for a certain length of time. It should be drained. The biggest concern in my opinion would be keeping the mice out. If you check the archives for this forum, there is a great thread on mice combat. There you'll find everything you need to know about waging warefare on the furry enemy.
