Need to sell one of our permanents so we can start saving for another sleeper house.

This shack is about ten years old, but is still in good shape and has years of fishing left in it. It measures 6' x 10' and has 4 holes. House is on wheeled trailer and has banking boards. All you do is wheel 'er out, put up bank boards with some snow, drill holes, and you're fishing. Kerosene heater is in great working order and can still cook you out of the shack on warm days. Stays cozey on the lowest setting on the most bitter MN days. All 4 holes are equipped with rattle reels. The shack has storage above the wheels on the inside, and has one large window with blind. Looking for $475 OBO, located in Bemidji.

I have a few questions, i might be interested in it.

How far off the ground does it sit?

How much would it cost ( estimated ) to run the heater for the year if i fished 2 times a week for the entire season?

Where could i get kerosine for it?

How is it insulated and is it drafty on the inside at all?

and How are is the trailer will it work as is or does it need a little work?

sorry for all the questions

The bottom of the shack is about two feet maybe off the ground, I can measure tomorrow and get back to you for sure.

I get kerosene at a local gas station, I'm not sure where you would get it, but I'm sure someone in town supplies it.

I would estimate roughly $100 - $150 worth of kerosene for the entire season if you only used it twice a week, maybe less. I never run it higher than the low setting, and it doesn't go through a lot, I just put in a gallon everytime I go in it.

It's insulated pretty good, not drafty at all as long as you bank it well.

The trailer is in great shape, no work needed. The lights work and everything's ready to go.

Forgot to mention. It also comes with a spare tire and a kerosene jug and all kerosene I have. There are also some misc. items in the shack that will stay in it when it goes.

House is still for sale, and you can look at it Fri. possibly. Shoot me an e-mail and we'll work something out. Riverrat has dibs but hasn't made it over to look at it yet. First one to pull it out of the yard gets it!

There was a problem with one of the wheels, so I now have put a brand new tire on the problematic side. Also got a tube put in the spare tire so she's good to go! Due to the miniscule, but time consuming work I'm looking for $475 pretty firm.

    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
