Super Black
Hi everyone, Hope everybody is having a great ice fishing season. I'm heading up to the Bay next weekend to target smallies. Was wondering if anyone could give a little info on the depths to concentrate on this time of year?? I will usually hit depths around 20-30 FOW, but thats on canadian lakes. If there's any difference please advise. Any problem traveling by 4WD on the lake, wouldn't want to haul the sled if possible. Any information is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Super Black
Pete Riola
Hi Super Black, Check out this video on Chequamy www.iceleaders.com/videoII.html. Be sure to know the ice conditions before driving out there. At this time of year fish a ton of holes in the dredged out area north and west of the ore dock with jigging spoons tipped with lake shiners or shiner heads. There are no spots really just a lot of water the same depth so drilling more holes means a better chance at catching more fish. If you're seeing a lot of fish in a given zone you can certainly focus on that area. Sometimes white tubes will work and we've caught some on jigs with waxies too. Good luck.Pete
Super Black
Thanks a lot Pete. I'll take consideration on the driving out. Really looking forward to get back on the big lake. I'll post what I get. Sincerley, Super Black
