fishingguy
Has any one used air plugs? Any similar products out there to keep your holes open? Any info or details would be greatly appreciated! Thx!
P Gottshall
pm me your e-mail & remind me of your question. I have a link with lots of discussion on this. The "coolest" suggestion I've seen is to 1/3 of a dark-colored shingle & lay it over your hole. Of course you'll need a slit for your line. Iceseeker
FISHINGGUYI was just in New Ulm yesterday and stopped in the sport shop and saw a couple of the air plugs on the shelf for 10.00 ea. I had never been in the store before and thought I would do some looking. Not the most organized but I'll bet that he would be able to get anything you need.Iceseeker
woodman
The only way to keep your holes from freezing up in a permanent is to purchase some Air Plugs, you can view them at www.airplugs.com You push the bladder down your ice hole, and pump it up until it is snug in your hole. When you return to your house, you just deflate it and start fishing. I use them in my houses and love them. Good luck fishing
LocalGuide
Wont these things shoot up the hole once you fill them with air? It sounds like a great idea but I would still think that they would push up, even when they are pumping up. And maybe when one is full it would end up shooting out of the hole. I can just imagine it, I have all 8 holes in the house filled with air plugs. I hear a crack in the ice right below the house and suddenly all the plugs come up like a rocket *boom boom boom...* Lol
Iceseeker
For the price of the airplugs I could afford to drill a few holes. And then you take into consideration that most houses have more than one hole it get real spendy quick. IMO...Iceseeker
Pete Riola
Here's a streaming video about Air Plugs http://www.fishfever.com/actionvideo/airplugsbeta.wmv
korn_fish
Not as heavy duty as the air-plugs, but less expensive method. YOu can buy inflatable cylindrical (sp??) pillows and use those. Should do basically the same thing. They are around $20.
