Gess
I have a 10yr old eskimo auger that I got from my gramps. Its has not been used in 5 years or so. When you start drilling it the auger slips. Any ideas? sheer pins r good as I checked those right away. or could it be from sitting for so log that it just needs to be run? Thanks for the help in advance. I want to get out today on medicine but the auger is slow with it slipping..haha
Surface Tension
If the auger isn't running right the clutch won't lock up like it should and it'll slip. Actually its really not a clutch in the sense that a clutch would have some slip as it engages. Theres no in between and it shouldn't slip at all. Your's hasn't been run for some time and the carb could be dirty. You could try and adjust the carb and see if that will get it to run at a higher RPM under WOT. Also drain the old gas if there is any and add a carb cleaner to the gas and run the auger, a lot. This may clean the carb enough for it to run right. Gess
Thanks Surface. I was kinda wondering if that could be the case. Ill get some sea foam and try adjusting the carb. I did think it might be running a little rich. Thanks again
