Clear Lake 12/23/04

Hit Clear Lake today.....what a COLD and WINDY day....-35* windchill and 1* real temps made for a cold day. Only managed a couple of eyes and yellow bass, but it was still good to be out! High pressure atmosphere had them really dead on the bite in my shack, but still got fish so cant complain.

I want to head over there next week when its 40*. That should get them biting.

I am heading over first thing on Monday morning, then in the late afternoon. Did you have your best luck by the island or off McIntosh? Just curious. I'll give you all the details tomorrow night.

The reports I am hearing are focusing on the channel near Macintosh or off the NE end of the Island.

Lots of people out on both Mcintosh and the Island today, about 6 trucks out on the ice also. Didn't get a chance to talk to anyone to see if they were doing any good. Hopefully I'll get out this week. Good Luck

Three of us fished for about 1 1/2 hours off McIntosh, not even a nibble. We then packed up and went off of the northeast corner of the island in 14 feet of water. Fishing was better, but nothing spectacular. We caught two walleyes and 6 or 7 yellows with a silver thrown into the mix. Small glow jigs with a minnow seemed to be the ticket, although a walleye was caught with a wax worm. Heading back tomorrow to try to get the afternoon bite. Good Luck!!
