Best campground in Duluth?

do you want north shore, or in duluth? For state parks, the jay cook state park just south of duluth is nice. But my favorite in judge c.r. magna state park, way up the north shore. They have excellant trout fishing year around up there on the river that goes through the park. But it's a designated trout stream, so everything has to go back. But fun C&R for the kids. And great N.Shore beaches for rock hounds up there too.

All the state parks along the North Shore are nice but hard to get into without reservations. There's a couple places on the old highway to Two Harbors and a city-run campground in Two Harbors. You can get information on one of several Two Harbors Web sites.

There's lots of options.

There are a couple in Duluth that are pretty nice, including Spirit mountain. Check visitduluth.com for the info.

Up old highway 61 there's the Duluth Tent and Trailer Campground, Wagon Wheel and a couple others. We've stayed at Knife River Campground and liked it alot.

In Two Harbors there's Burlington Bay Campground, real nice and right on the water. From there it's all state parks and get pretty booked on the weekends. You may get lucky, but reservations are pretty mandatory. My favorite state park is Tettegouche.

Pretty nice campground in Grand Marais too, if you want to go that far.

Good luck..have fun!
