Anybody fishing in Illinois?

Loner or any one ,How is the fishing going? There has'nt been a post on this page for ever. Come on guy's lets get with the times. I've been fishing up at and around Lake Storey we have been iceing a lot of nice crappie . In the past 2 weeks I went to Chicago was'nt any good.Banner Marsh was fair alot of specks 1 toothy critter 37 1!2" good chowder canidate.Going to Fulton or around Albany in a few days.I have to go pick up a shantey I bought off this site . They wouldnt deliver this far south .So i have to go to Cordova hope I spelled it right. Looking for a place to fish up there.Iheard arond Fulton is the place to get those big specks ie (crappie) Don't know just looking for some info Fill The Bucket!!!!!!!

I was up to potters mash by Thompson last Saturday and did't catch a thing, Heard the same from everyone we talked to. We thought about going to Lake Story, sounds like thats where we should have been.

Where at on Lake Story is a good area, and what time of day? I have never ice fished it. Might try this weekend.

Or if my friend wants to we might go back up to Fulton-Thompson, havn't decided yet.

Vol02 If you go to Storey we are fishing right by the tower. That would put ya right off the dam. It's at the north west side of the lake Park at the boat ramp it's a very short walk maybe 50 yards or so. The night bite has been the best we get there around 3:00 and stay till 10:00 or so. I've been talking to some guys they said the early morning bite is starting to pick up.Pretty dead from11:00 am on. Alsoseeing some nice wallys on the camera but not catching any. Wealways catcch a few up there every year.Ilost a good solid 8# right at the hole last year.We have been getting the crappie in 30 ft some about 6 to 10 ft off the bottom. If you go be careful theres 6 " at the dam but if you go straight east of that by the sunkn bridge the geese had it wide open so use caution.Ive only found 1 bait shop it is all they way on the south end of town its called Als sporting goods hes closed on wed and sun. 7:00 to 5:00 Went to fulton today fished out of Mkinleys landing I think that was the name total bust The guys said they havent been doing anything for a week or so now.Looked like a nice area will surely be back when they start biting.Ill be up to Storey rest of the week stop by and give us yell. be in a clam 5600. If you take any beer keep it under your hat not allowed we keep a low profile havent been boyhered in years. Good luck.

I think I am going to Lake Story Sat. afternoon/evening. I will have a Eskimo Traveler.

Are you guys using minnows or just jigs tipped with waxies?

I've been wanting to get back down there a friend of mine caught a 2.25lbs crappie there last spring and I caught some as well. I don't know why I don't go there more its only 25 miles away.

Vol, I won't be up sat, I forgot about the tourny at Lake Camelot Its in the Peoria area. Starts at 7:00 am to 12:00 . Its a pretty good time a bunch of people though. weve been getting most of uor crappie on minnows, getting some with waxies but jigging aggressively or they wouldnt touch it. Went up last night did pretty well had over 50 on the ice man was it cold though. Ill be up sunday.to much stuff going on tomorrow. Might see ya up there. you might want to get some smelt weve been seeing some nice muskie cruising off the dam in about 25' of water. Good luck.
