minky
I now live about an hour north of the twin cities, are there any places to fish for stream trout? I am thinking my best bet might be to drive up to the Duluth/ Superior area. Are any trout caught in the stream that comes of Grindstone? we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted February 28, 2020 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted February 28, 2020 Why not SE MN? From Red Wing south and SW they are loaded with beautiful Trout streams. And easy access.
minky
I will check them out. Most of my experience has been on the kinnick in Wisconsin. I don't have alot of experience with trout but quickly have learned I love to fish for them!

JBMasterAngler
Grindstone River does not have any trout. There’s a few streams east if Hinckley that stocked with trout, but they are poor at best. There’s Blackhoof River just east if Barnum...has a marginal population of brook trout, and also receives a run of steelhead. The upper reaches of the Moosehorn River has brook trout. Big and Little Otter Creeks are also marginal trout streams. Personally, I would drive the extra miles and fish the Namekegon and/or Bois Brule Rivers in Wisconsin.
