Portable Battery Jump Starter Pack

Recommended Posts

Any one try or have one of these?  I have been thinking of getting one to carry in the ATV since it doesn't have pull start as a back up.

There are like 30 of them on-line and at stores but most look like a joke, like a glorified cell phone charger.  🙄

Any user feed back on a good brand?

I have one and they are great. My job foreman had one last year that he was using to start his car in the big chill as it’s battery was going bad and I had never seen one. After watching him jump that car in the cold I bought myself one and one for each kid and they are nice.

What brand if you remember. Right now I have 16 different ones written down and trying to review for cost and power output.

Want something that can bang around in an ATV storage box and still work when needed.

I’m not even sure. Bought it off the big river site. My employee bought his from Harbor Freight. My guess is they are all made in Asia and are probably sold under several names but work basically the same if you stay in the same price category.

That's really kind of what I am finding. All made in Asia and making claims to fire off the Space shuttle!  😏

The prices for the same thing from site to site range wildly as well.  One was $79.99 on one site and $150 on another for the same thing! 😲

I would focus on the CCA and get one with enough grunt to start a full size truck. My employee paid probably half a Hondo for his and mine was like a hondo.

CCA has been pretty much what I have been looking at on reviews.  Probably just another thing banging around in the rack bag that will end up dead when I need it. But, maybe I can use it to spark a signal fire if broke down at least!  😁

I've been looking on and off for one of these too. I didn't know these things existed until last fall when my wife and I went for an atv ride to the nearest town, had a bloody mary and when we went back out to the wheeler it was dead as a door nail. Turned out to be a loose fuse but a guy at the bar pulled one of these out in an effort to help us out and I have been thinking of getting one ever since.

I really started thinking about it when I thought back to my 2003 Mag 330. I bought it new and the starter never seemed to have enough juice to turn it over so I used the pull rope most of the time. The one I have now an't got no pull rope so the starting system needs to work! 😕

We use ours so we can run the T&T on the boats when we are putting them in or taking them them out of storage & don't have the batteries in too. Almost all the family has 1 in their vehicle & don't really need to use it very much to justify the $.

I bought one at walmart a few years ago when they had for around 10 bucks. should a bought a half a dozen they work so well. Used it to start lawn mower atv, truck and carry  it on the boat for backup and atv when I am riding. I would think like the one listed at the top would be great!

I don't have a portable jumper but I have a few chargers from that noco genius brand you have pictured and they are nice.  No issues.
