The issue with oil weight is not running it in the winter it starting it in the winter. Once it starts it should be find with the 5-30W. You could always bring it into the shack for a while to warm up while your setting up and drilling holes then start it up.

how much colder than -20 you gonna be?   MIght think about 0w20 synthetic....

 My Honda generator is close to 30 years old now and I use it multiple times every year. Many times it runs for days at a time without being shut off except to fuel it.  I've always used Honda oil of the recommended viscosity for the temperature. Usually 5w-30

 While I don't think 0W would hurt it, I don't think that it is necessary.

 

 You may have already seen it but here is the chart right out of the manual.
