Everything is going strong now. Been making salsa for the last week or so, have been doing abt's with the jalapenos,  thinking on letting them go red to spread it out a bit. The early girls are kicking em out but the big boys have a bit. Canned two jars of pickles with more coming down the pipe, but I'm gonna hafta start grilling some zucchini,  can only make so much bread.

Bell peppers seem to be running a little on the small side, starting to change colors but was hoping for some better sized ones for stuffing. Snap peas did good out of the gate but are trailing off already,  ya gotta love this time of year!!

Will probably pull the peas tonight. Tomatoes and cucs are booming. I am really disappointed in the pumpkins, oodles of flowers but very few pumpkins. Not sure what is going on? last year was the same. In years past had piles of pumpkins.....

This mornings pick. My father in law gave me a recipe to try.  Cut tomato in half, make several slices on the interior but not through the skin. Drizzle olive oil, sprinkle Snyders prime rib seasoning and Parmesan cheese. Cook indirect on the grill on foil at 350 degrees for 45min.  It will be a good side dish for the venison loin we are having today.

I pulled a tomato plant today as well as 2 pepper plants, they weren't jalapeno or green pepper so they had to go.

Pepper sauce time.

leech~~......

I get jalapenos every year like that. They usually turn back green or move to the red phase.

That's too bad, did your garden get dried out at some point? You had a pretty good start to the season and had a jump on my garden.

its wierd, my cukes the stems from the ground out look like they were died and dried out but the ends were green, plenty of flowers and producing.quite frankly, i got 2 medium size boxed of cukes in the frig i need to use or give away. i know this isnt right to say, i'm getting cucumbered out.

same with the peppers, i had to look thru a jungle to find them most of the summer as the cukes exploded and basiclly covered them. i have enough peppers for what i need, froze some for chili, and have eaten my share. and again there were no small ones coming in to keep them in the ground to make it till first frost.

my tomatoes, the ones i may be pulling soon are running out of tomatoes worth while .

    • I hung 4 tanglefoot traps this year and quit counting at 200k bugs(counted out 1/4 cup to get a baseline). Lots of days with a gallon or more caught, sometimes 2. Lots of info stating it just makes matters worse, but I disagree. Despite inviting clouds of them plant damage was minimal compared to not trapping. My cherry tree hasn't been completely defoliated since trapping began last year. Still gets hit, but not bad. Haven't noticed any real lawn damage either.  Just for easy math, if half were females I prevented over 5 million eggs from being laid. I like not using poison and bycatch was only 2-3 bumblebees over the last 2 years. If you decide to trap stay away from bag traps. They are a pain and greatly increase the number of dead stinky bugs in the trap, which acts as a repellant. https://www.amazon.com/Tanglefoot-Japanese-Beetle-Xpando-Trap/dp/B077XLPN3J/ref=sr_1_6?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1537568898&sr=1-6&keywords=japanese+beetle+trap&dpID=51WRxjClq%2BL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
    • If you have season tickets and your not going because your pitcher is not pitching.  Please PM me, I'll sit in your seats that game for yea!  🙂
    • I disagree, I was just in Houston a few weeks ago. I can tell you first hand the starting pitcher played a role in what Astros game we chose to see (Verlander)
    • LOL.  No they don't.  There are 9 people in the stadium that care about that.   People go to eat a hotdog and watch the baseball game.
    • The problem is the Wolves have no leverage now in regards to trades. If Butler wanted out why did he wait so long, that's just going to make it even harder for him to get to the teams he wants to be traded to? He really left the Wolves in a bad predicament with the timing of all of this.   They have to keep him at this point don't they? And man Thibs is as good as gone if they don't get anything in return. This quickly went to a real promising future to disaster. And that huge deal Wiggins got looks worse and worse by the day. The wolves cant build around that deal and Wiggins either.
    • I do believe it will hurt baseball in the long run, as lots of people choose which games they go to based on who the starting pitcher is. Also, I could see it backfiring on a team by depleting their bullpen, should the starter in the next game get rocked early.
    • yes...they have been there probably for longer than that so what is 6 more months?  Not something I particularly am happy about but I am not the expert so I go off their recommendations and also it is expensive and other things were coming into play so here I hang.
    • Butler is a locker room problem and that is evident now.  We just need to hope there is a team with assets that feel they can deal with his attitude and are willing to give us decent compensation.  Then we need our knucklehead coach/gm to think about the franchise and not himself and really get whats best for the Twolves future and not this season alone!  We have a good chip to deal.  We have 2 players that will be hungry to lead this team and show the nay sayers that they can play at a high level and win!! (hopefully)
