Do they even make .22 shorts anymore? I have been looking for the little guys to do some pest control on the property. I also used to buy the powder less .22 shorts that were very quiet but still packed enough of a punch to take out them pesky rabbits in my garden. Also let me shoot them through the rifle. If anyone has any ideas I welcome your comments.

I bought some last year for the red squirrels but can't remember if I was at Wally World or Feet Farm.  Probably the farm.

They're a nice option for close, covert operations. ;)

Ayup. Saw some  yday at Waldo Mart.  Remi Goldens.  Surprised anyone buys them anymore.

I got a really old 22 from my father-in-law that said 22 short only on the barrel.  So they still are needed for some guns.

As it has been 1 year to your post, so I think that your problem of getting the rabbits out would be resolved. I am facing the problem with raccoons in my house. As everybody knows that raccoons are very destructive. They can harm many things around. So due to this concern, I want them to be exterminated them from my house. I have heard about this shooting method, but as I am not that experienced in it and do not want to take any risk so therefore, I am opting the method of calling a professional from CT Exterminators for my help. There are many other ways to get them out like setting traps for them, once you trapped them, you can contact animal control to have them removed from your attic safely.

Sounds like a good plan if your not very comfortable using guns.  Do you do any hunting or fishing out there in Connecticut?

    • That's one of the main reason I run a Vexilar. I don't want to be the jerk that interferes with everyone else......
    • Was in Grand Marais for 6 days. Didn’t see one single grouse! Of course, it rained and snowed every day. So it was less than ideal conditions.
    • I've been shooting federal premium trophy copper in my .270 for the past few years.   I switched after the blue box federals didn't pass through a 3.5 year old buck at about 60 yards or so. I found the round just under the hide on the far side and only recovered the buck because I smelled him while doing a grid search. I've shot several deer with them and I have no complaints.  An added bonus is they shoot just like the blue box ones do in my rifle.
    • Britt: Do you know where to view the Ruffed Grouse Society Invitational Hunt in Grand Rapids MN annual harvest statistics by year? Thanks.
    • Watch their interference disappear when you shut your marcum off 🤨
    • Rick was going to start that topic right after this one slowed down! 😅
    • Don't be fooled by stainless cables. Take proper care of them and change them every few years.Do your pivots every couple years too.
    • Might as well get augers in on this too!
    • Just counted 14 of them under and on my feeder. Cardinals, Nuthatches, Juncos, and asst sparrows came in and they chased them all away. It's like one stands guard and chase everything off. Sorry guys, time has come to start thinning the blue rats out!
