I mean...  Come on! Injury prone team, going into a night where we should have been competing for home field advantage here we are playing a juggernaut at our home field playing in a game wondering if we will even make the playoffs without our headcoach on the sidelines lol.

I can see us winning in the spotlight, there D is beatable, our D when it's running all cylinders is pretty darn tough to move the ball on, I'm going to say Vikes 24 Cowboys 17!

We generally get embarrassed in prime time games and with the Dallas hype train in high gear I don't have high expectations for this game. I hate the Cowboys more than any team in the NFL so earlier in the year this was looking good but just like that...

I'm hoping for a character building game, prime time against a monster team like this is what builds teams IMO.  Hey I'm just a crazy Vikes fan, I don't care what the haters say

We are definitely holding our own in this game, I better crack another cold one lol

:D

All I ask is to be entertained.

Even the losses have been entertaining games.

Surprise me Vikes, pull this one out.

It went about as I expected.  I thought the vikes D would show up today at they did that and gave us a chance to win.

Really all we can hope for the remainder of the year is for entertaining games.  This team is no threat to win the superbowl or even make an interesting run in the playoffs.  If they sneak into the playoffs they may get lucky and win a game since the other potential wild card weekend teams aren't anything special but thats about the most we can hope for out of this team this year.

And then we can look forward to the draft.

Round 1 - OL

Round 2 - OL

Round 3 - OL

Round 4 - OL

Round 5 - OL

Round 6 - OL

Round 7 - OL

Well, I guess that beats losing in OT.

:)

Man....that D has sure made some really good teams look bad this year.

Man.....that O is cringe worthy every time they step on the field.

Still a fan.

A MN sports fan who knows to expect to be disappointed.

I'm a Mn sports fan who doesn't expect to be disappointed, the dumb kind lol.  It was a heck of a game though for sure, if that was Rodgers or one of the prissy QB's we would have had another shot at the 2pt conversion. But... whatever. #stillbutthurt lol

A 2pt conversion should have been easy for Bradford to execute since 99% of his passes are only thrown 3 yards from the line of scrimmage anyway.

To bad we had an holding penalty that made us attempt it from the 7.

It was a false start on the OL and another one could have been called on the 2nd attempt.  The OL is just BAD, probably the worst I've ever seen for a vikings team.  It seems like few teams put a high priority on the OL.  A good OL can make an average qb, wr, and rb look awfully good when it gives them time and opens holes.  A bad OL can also make a great qb, wr, rb look awfully bad.

Yeah you're right, my bad. Yes, the line is awful.

I thought last night's game was surprisingly entertaining considering how low scoring it was for most of it. Not sure if people outside of MN and TX would agree. Rudolph dropping that ball in the end zone was devastating - IMO it was a bigger play than the final one. As much as I hate to see us continue to lose, I honestly have never seen a team lose so many starters at key positions and still be competitive. Says a lot about our coaching, depth, and players buying in.

Will be interesting to see what we can do with our OL without having a 1st rd pick this off season. As others have said, it wouldn't be a bad strategy to use every draft pick we have on the linemen.

    • I do it, have experience with homers and shooters. I am not a die hard as I was a few years ago but will get back into more when I get a new pup here in the near future.   The birds are not to bad to care for just need food and water. My experience and most troubles have been trying to keep critters out of the pigeon loft. Mink etc like to wreak havoc and it sucks when you lose all your birds to a stupid rodent. Especially the homers and you work to get them coming back. I haven't had any issues keeping birds at home by the dogs.   As for working the dog, you probably want to invest in a bird launcher as well especially since your dogs a pointer. Not sure how steady your dog will be or what kind of prey drive it will have. I would just slowly introduce them. Might even start with just clipping some flight feathers and throw it in an open area and see how your dog reacts and go from there.   It should point naturally but just use the launcher to steady the dog up. Just look up methods with a check cord etc. when using the launcher. If you want them steady to flush or steady to shot that's up to you but that's way down the road yet. Some of that  pointing should come natural but with this dog being a little older you never know what your gonna get but never too late to start either I guess.    good luck
    • Maybe, We have some of that disease in the family. I'm of the opinion that if you are diabetic the kind of beer you should drink is NO BEER.
    • Not if you're diabetic.
    • Anyone here have any experience with keeping and using pigeons, especially homers, for dog training?   I have an almost 2 year old Brittany that has not even been out hunting yet.... Last fall he was pretty young yet plus I had some health issues that kept me unable to walk around the woods or fields.   I'm not trying to turn my dog into some kind of world champion hunter or anything. I just want to be able to spend more time, all year long as opposed to only hunting season,  doing the thing he loves to do the most. We already have a great time on a daily basis playing an endless game of fetch and he is the most prolific tennis ball catcher (after one bounce) that I have ever seen. He also spends his days chasing rabbits, birds and squirrels in our fenced in yard along with lounging in his very own pool on hot days. He is trained to do all the normal things like sit, lay, shake, come, etc and I have no doubt that he has lots of natural hunting instinct so this seems to be where the progression of his training should head.   I do live in town but as long as I'm not keeping dozens of birds at one time, I don't think it will be an issue. I will check with the city before proceeding though. I'm thinking of getting about 6 homing pigeon squeakers and keeping them in a hutch in my yard. Is there any problem with the birds being in the same yard as the dog?   I'm thinking I could go out to the country on any given day and plant a few birds for my dog to sniff out. I have access to private property to do this on but I am wondering, is it legal to do this on wildlife management areas? I think I recall that after a certain date it is OK to train dogs?   Anyone else do this? Any advice?
