Chisago Area

Recommended Posts

Can't choose a lake for the morning! Me and my buddy need input. We've only fished NS Center and Green before but its been a while for both. Any suggestions for the area? Thanks.

Those 2 are good choices, but throw Chisago into the mix. Great action lake. Big variety of ways to fish - deep, slop, weedlines, reed banks.

Tough morning on green. Chose to frog fish and didn't do as well as we'd hope. Caught a few and missed a few. I can't figure our NS Center and I don't know why!

I think I will try Chisago next, haven't fished it yet!

Frog fishing on Chisago was pretty decent on Saturday 5:00am until 10am. All the fish seems pretty fat like they have been eating well recently. South end in the slop and around most of the big floating weed beds were pretty active. The three smaller bays were giving up fish but a little smaller in size than on the main lake. Did some cranks also in 10'-15'  off weed edges and the pike were all over them.

Green has some great weed beds - some of the nicest coontail and milfoil in the area plus more and more cabbage.  Weedline sets up around 11ft give or take.  Find an edge somewhere and follow it along with t-rigged plastic or jig.

Haven't fished N. Center much since winter kill but fish are there. Expect alot of tiny northern. Always fish around the island and out from it. Generally, stay shallow, though there are some deep rocks always worth trying.
