123fish
I know if you hunt waterfowl or upland game on a WPA you cannot use lead. Is it the same for turkeys?
DonBo
Not absolutely certain, but I believe that's correct. The newer heavy shot ammo would be a good choice.
Neighbor_guy
Yes, non toxic shot only on WPA's
123fish
Thanks guys. I kind of thought it would be a no lead area. My cousin gave me some Hevishot if I end up going there.
Wanderer
Take a few shots and check your pattern at 20-30-40 yards if you haven't used it before. It might surprise you. Neighbor_guy
rogrod
I got a turkey on a WPA last year and walking out a federal warden checked me and never asked about what shells I was using.

I sure wouldn't count on that though. It's definitely in the regs and doesn't state exceptions for turkeys. See straight from the regulations/rules. Quote When hunting with a shotgun, hunters must use and possess only approved non-toxic shot. Lead bullets in rifles and muzzle loaders are allowed in accordance with State regulations. 123fish
I'm with you Borch. I'm not chancing a ticket for a turkey or anything else for that matter. Didn't see or hear anything this morning which was a little surprising considering how nice it was. Heading to that WPA tomorrow morning where I at least saw a track yesterday.
