JP Z
Alan Bergo has posted a video of him picking a few young ones....this is weeks early. But hey, I'm not going to complain! NoWiser
NoWiser
Seems to me I saw some pictures last year right around this time. I went out and checked my spots but didn't find anything until a few weeks later. I'll wait for another couple of weeks but it's exciting knowing that the time is getting near! Stick in Mud
I just got back from a canoe trip in Canada, and it was strange up there....there were boletes all over the place and even some russulas--including some old ones--and there were also TONS of oysters. The lilacs were still in bloom, too. Weird mix of 'shrooms, at least for my normal picking grounds. Still, if the boletes and russulas are fruiting that far north, the summer edibles shouldn't be *too* far behind.
