Ford Expedition DriveShaft??

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, quick question.  On my 04 Expedition it feels as though the front u-joint (s) are going bad on the main rear driveshaft.  I can't seem to find a "complete rear driveshaft assembly" to buy (figured if I could just unbolt the old one and put a new one in it would save a lot of time).  I haven't been able to find any, is it just common practice to just replace the U-Joint itself??  I can find complete sets for the Front driveshaft but not the rear.

Thanks

I am sure you could order new from Ford, for about $500, but a new joint is less then $50. The front joint rarely goes bad, it is almost always the rear joint that goes bad. You could also try Twin city clutch and ujoint, I have had them custom make me new shafts for mud trucks in the past, but those werent cheap either.
