Cooked up the last of the backstraps tonight before the youth opener on Thursday. It ended up a lot heavier on the mushrooms than planned but it was great. I may be doing it like this going forward.  I try to do this every year before deer hunting and this is the third year of doing it before youth opener. Backstraps in gravy. Cubed potatoes (not mashed! Have to be cubed) and a vegetable. Corn was the last choice for me but that’s what was decided by the first timer this year
