kinda cool seeing this today. was on a bike ride and looked up at an eagle flying over and saw it. had the tiny coolpix in my pocket so popped a couple pics.

Ice crystals in atmosphere. Usually mean a change in weather; often seen with Cirrus clouds.

I should have said the halo CAN mean a change in weather, possibly precip in a day or two, I think. Cirrus occur during nice, fair weather....by the way, that's a good pic.

thx, had to go pop a couple more pics. I wish I had a model with me to stand on my car with hands up in the air. that would have been neat.
