Minn Kota Terrova/Humminbird i-lInk Software Updates

Quick questions I hope.

How do I update the software on my I-Link Remote? I know there is an option that says update software but it always tells me there is not available software which I think there is being two years old.

Reason I want to update it is because I got a micro remote so I can run two remotes on my boat but am having issues getting it to work. It says I may need to update software for Micro remote capability

Any help would be great!

The way I understand it is as follows:

Trolling Motor unit must be upgraded to newest software to be able to upgrade the Wireless Remote software.

Download both software files onto SD card and put into Humminbird console then power up console and it may upgrade automatically or you might have to find upgrade options in the menu system.

Then the remote can be upgraded after that.

I just upgraded from i-pilot to i-pilot link, so I am looking to get rid of a i-pilot head unit for Terrova.

Make sure you also update your bird unit before updating your link. Reset you bird unit to defaults before updating that. Then erase the bird unit update off the sd card and put the two link updates on the card. Pop that card in and you link controller will update. After that you need to dig through the menu of the remote to find "update software."
