I see they have a mini Talon now but it's still about $600. That's beyond it's value to me but the concept is great. When is someone going to invent a poor mans version? A simple 6 inch piece of 3/4 inch pipe with thumbscrews mounted thru it mounted to the back of you boat would work. Then carry a 10-12 piece of 1/2 inch galvanized pipe in your boat that you slide down the mounted piece firmly into the bottom and thumbscrew it tight. I think I would use it more for spring crappies than bass fishing so it wouldn't justify the huge price tag of the real one for me.

Check some of the waterfowl hunting specialty stores like Mac's Prairie Wings or Rogers Sporting Goods. There have been things around like this for anchoring duck boats for years... Even if you don't purchase one, it'll generate some ideas at least...
