correct plug gap

Recommended Posts

Was able to acquire different fishing rig. Motor is a 1997 Yamaha 30hp elec. Start. Wondering what the proper plug gap should be, since I plan to put in new plugs, new fuel, etc.?

Previous owner was not much help with some questions regarding the rig, other than how great it was. Thanks.

FWIW, and I just learned this last weekend, but the motors all have the spark plug number and gap listed on them, my newer merc does right on the top, and I think older ones do too, if the stickers is not faded too much.
