Baitchaser
Looking at a new camera to use for vacation photos, wildlife photos, and some video. Does anybody have experience with the Canon SX60HS? It is one of the cameras at the top of my list but wanted to know how people like it besides the reviews online. If you have other cameras you would suggest, I would love to hear those as well. Thanks!
MN Shutterbug
I purchased the Panasonic DMC-FZ70 last fall and really like it. I downgraded from my Canon dslr's. It has raw capabilities, manual override, nice image stabilization, and boasts a 60x optical zoom. Some photos I've taken with this camera would rival what I got with my much higher priced equipment. This camera also does nice HD video. You can get the camera with memory card and case for $300 from BH Photo Video. It also does a nice job in macro mode. The pine cone in my avatar was taken with the macro setting.

eyeguy 54
should be a fun camera. just remember that it's not gonna get great shots in the higher ISO. should be sweet for outdoor stuff. fun zoom also.
MN Shutterbug
just remember that it's not gonna get great shots in the higher ISO. Under good lighting conditions, this Panasonic does quite well at higher ISO's. However, if you under expose, any camera will show grain at higher ISO's, even DSLR's. Just like with my Canon DSLR, I typically keep the ISO set at 400 and don't usually have an issue. Here is a shot I just took at ISO 800. I did no noise reduction. Even zoomed way up on the dark shorts, there is no noticeable noise. You won't be able to use this type of camera for indoor sports but that's not the intentions of the OP.
