SkunkedAgain
I'm thinking about a new Ecoboost, 2014 or 2015. My current 2003 Screw has the 5.0L v8 with 260hp and 350lbs of torque. I see that both the 2.7L and the 3.5 Ecoboost put out more power. Will the 2.7 with the 3.31 short gearing do as good as my old v8 with a 3.73 pulling my 16.5' foot alumacraft up north? If I can get an extra mile or two per gallon for 90% of my driving, it seems worth it.
Powerstroke
If your max towing is your boat, then I would say you will be just fine with the smaller motor and higher (numerically lower) gears.
gunner55
2013 Escape with factory tow pkg handles our '02FH1750 pretty well. Not sure what his mpg is towing but we don't haul it very far as we leave it up at the lake.Maybe over to Winnie or up to URL,which is just about an hr,a few times a year. Lip_Ripper Guy
The reviews on the 2.7 are extremely good. If all I towed was a boat, I'd give it strong consideration.
gunner55
Forgot to mention his is the 2.0 as the tow pkg wasn't available on the smaller motor.
