System Restore

Is it possible to recover your pictures you had on desktop if you do a system restore and don't save em first?

System Restore doesn't effect files, your photos are safe smile If you do an advanced Total System Restore (back to factory settings), you will need to backup EVERTHING.

I guess if they're gone from your photo library, you must of done a total restore. If so, contact a reputable computer shop to see if they have a retrieval program for your hard drive.

I know it's still possible to get them back, as long as you haven't wrote anything back on your drive since format. Seen it done with SD cards which are basically a small hard drive. The FBI does retrievals all the time, on machines hard drives wink

Keep me updated on your solution or lack off. Hope things work out, I feel your pain frown

Yeah...I meant to say I did a re format...i'll call the local geek and see what he says. Thanks. I was so frustrated one day when everything froze up that I said ta heck with it and returned to factory settings. Never gave a thought about the hundreds if not more pictures we had stored. Just lost my little buddy (jack russell)and would like to get those pics back. frown

I have all my pictures automatically upload to photobucket and I save anything I care about on Google drive. That way I don't have to worry about a computer going down and I can access all of my important stuff on any device.
