Anderson Silva

Recommended Posts

I see that Anderson Silva failed a pre fight drug test, and was still allowed to fight this past Saturday. They didn't specify the PED used, but that it was a banned steroid. Nevada athletic commission gave a lame excuse as to why they didn't do anything about it. His opponent, Nick Diaz failed a post fight drug test (marijuana). Who's more to blame here, the athletic commission or the UFC? UFC claims they didn't know, but I don't believe that for a second! If this keeps going, I see some big lawsuits in the future! Might be the downfall of the UFC!

He tested positive for drostanolone and methyltestosterone, it is reported that the results weren't given to the commission until after the fight. To be honest I would have been more surprised if Diaz's test came back clean he came in for his one big payday and now will go back to his gyms and coaching. I guess I don't know where these lawsuits would come from, if anything they might find collusion with the commission and the UFC then it would just implode from there.

I'm thinking in the line of a fighter gets seriously hurt by an opponent who failed a pre fight drug test. Diaz testing positive for marijuana isn't even a surprise...it's almost common in MMA and boxing! MMA is dangerous enough, but even more dangerous if your going in there against an opponent that's doping up, and the commission "supports" it!
