slurpie
Very good movie. I don't brag up anything very often or very much. But it would be a must see movie after seeing it. It is a very touching movie the theatre was close to completely silent as everyone walked out. If your bored highly recommend going to see it. leechlake
I've been impressed by his wife during the few interviews I've seen. I think she has perspective that Moore wouldn't even be kind enough to listen too.I tried to read the book but got stuck 1/3 of the way through it, I'm not a big reader but it caught my eye a few years ago but it didn't get anywhere before my attention span got in the way. DTro
While American Sniper wasn't a masterpiece I really enjoyed it. Eastwood movies rarely disappoint but IMO the ultimate tragic ending could have been detailed a little better. Restrepo is still the best movie of this genre I've seen. DTro
Didn't say anything about it being happy, just didn't care for how it was detailed.
mrklean
I tried to read the book but got stuck 1/3 of the way through it, I'm not a big reader but it caught my eye a few years ago but it didn't get anywhere before my attention span got in the way. I just started listening to the audio book I hate reading so audio books are the way to go, only part way though but really enjoy it. Cant wait to see the movie. fishersofmen
I haven't been to a movie theatre in 10 years but we are going this week.
Juan Grande
I saw it today and thought it was great. Haven't read the book yet.
M1dwestF1sh
I saw it yesterday and it was very good. I liked how they did the ending (trying not to give anything away). I will say though marine sniper was a better book than american sniper.
RuddyDuck
We saw it this last Sat. and we thought it was good. Ditto for the it being completely silent after it ended. Everyone just left their seats quietly.
lawdog
DTro there is a gag order in place from the court regarding the "ultimate ending" which I believe prevents any more detail. The guy is contesting the death penalty and claiming insanity and PTSD and the trial is upcoming. Also, leaving Lone Survivor was the same way. Total silence from a shellshocked and reverent audience. DTro
Oh, that makes COMPLETE sense about the gag order and I feel better about the movie now. I kind of thought Clint left me hanging there, but now I see there was really no other way to do it. Thanks
bobbymalone
Restrepo is still the best movie of this genre I've seen. Restrepo and AS aren't really in the same genre. Restrepo is an actual documentary, filmed live as it happened. AS is a based on real life drama.AS might be based on a true story, but it's certainly not a documentary. Not to mention some of the stuff in the book that's portrayed as truth is pretty much total hogwash. I'm not sure how the movie handles the parts of the book that are supposedly bologna.Anyways, you should check out Korengal, which is a sequel of sorts to Restrepo. It's on netflix. DTro
I guess when I said genre I meant movies focusing on the middle eastern conflict. The Hurt Locker, Blackhawk Down, Zero Dark Thirty, Lone Survivor, etc.
lovebigbluegills
Blackhawk down was Somalia, not the middle east

Sandmannd
American Sniper was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I will agree it's no masterpiece but for what it is it's a great movie and a must see. The two morons that put it down aren't even worth a mention. Kyle was a true hero for America who's life was sadly cut short. I for sure be seeing this again.

fishersofmen
Guarantee The Body snuck into a theatre wearing a costume somewhere and absolutely loved it.
PierBridge
I guess I dont see any correlation between Clints ending and the gag order.Clint has always had out of the norm, some say creepie ironic types of endings for his movies.
