Dooley87
It's amazing to me how many blocks are just left on the ice, no sticks marking holes or anything. I usually try and chop up as many blocks as I can and mark the holes but these bays are way more then one guy can do on his own. What would people think about taking an afternoon with a few guys, walking around and chopping up blocks and drilling holes next to them and placing branches? Someone will get hurt once there's enough snow for snowmobiles and it's harder to see the blocks, at this pace they won't ever open mille lacs up for spearing again. MJ1657
I think its a great idea. I'm not sure what guys are thinking when they leave blocks on the ice. Definitely makes us look like clowns.
Jessie_H
We can probably thank last weeks warm weather for getting rid of a lot of the blocks that were left on the ice. I was up there this weekend spearing again and the blocks next to our permanent were completely gone (melted) from the warm weather.
hawkeye43
Now watch out for the holes and the thin ice over the holes
