Nice!

Still waiting to actually SEE one of those myself.  Twice I’ve had one pass within 2 miles of where I lived but still haven’t laid eyes on one.

Been out to God's country many times but always stuck on shore with no canoe. Great pictures and the weather looked great too! 🙂

Whereabouts was the twister?

Right near the WY/SD border. We were headed to Hot Springs SD for a night.

There were a few cells around, but that cloud caught our attention. Heading south on 85, it was still to the west, but by the time we caught up to it, it had just crossed the highway. It was pretty impressive when darn near right under it and folks were pulling over to watch what may happen.

I pressed on not knowing the area and thinking of safety. But kept an eye on it as it moved east and we moved south/southeast. About 10 minutes later I proclaimed in a very excited voice "It's happening!!!". Pulled over, watched the show and took some pics. It was a quick one, but man...........so cool to finally see a twister.

This is all I found on the net about it.........

July 3rd. 5:27 P. 2 Sw Dewey- Weston County WY

Multiple Spotters Reported A Tornado Southwest Of Dewey Beginning At 427 Pm. Tornado Was Up And Down Through At Least 440 Pm. (Unr)

Sucks that life gets so busy Duff, and hard too keep in touch with all the cool people on this site........ I was in the Southern part of Bighorn the 4th and 5th.......and would have been  great to see ya again. Glad to see the pup is still hanging in there. You know they say when a deer  purposefully wants to hang around humans, there is a Squatch nearby. Great pics!!!

Lol, that reminds me of a time fishing the Yellowstone river. I had climbed out on a large snag of dead falls to cast.  I heard a noise behind me and thinking Bear, I turned to find a small Doe walking out to me!  Scared the dump out of me but she just wanted to make friends!  I gave her a few marshmallows and could hardly get rid of her. 😄

We were back home on the 4th, stayed at West Tensleep Lake campground June 30th-3rd. Funny that you were there, my co-workers best friend was also in that area last week (they hiked the same trail we did a day later). Such a small world at times.

Despite the pre-mature gray on the hound and her very mellow demeanor (which I dig), she just turned 7 this spring.

I'm guessing your little feller ain't so little anymore? I can't even remember how long ago it was when we hooked up for catting through the ice.

Maybe we can find some time to hook up again?

Open water or ice, keep it in mind as the days, months, and years roll by..............quicker and quicker it seems.

I was a little surprised how the animals showed little fear towards humans out there.  Even the Moose, they paid a little attention when near, but no fear whatsoever. But when we seen a mama moose and calf headed our way out hiking, we skedaddled the other way. Don't need to be stomped into a puddle of Duffmeat.  :)

Leads me to another story out there.

Three of us walking the river bank looking for good pools to fish came across a baby moose in front of us on the rivers edge.  Cool, look at that! 🙂

Didn't seem to see the other baby moose just in the brush from the way we just came, or the very pizzed off mommy Moose standing right behind us!  😯

The river bank at that spot was about 5 foot drop so no way out of the 3 way stomping but to slowly about-face and try to get back the way we came!

We didn't make Outdoor life-This happened to me.  So we made it!  😅

Just wondering where you where at?  Cloud Peak Wilderness area?  Some of the pictures look familiar, but the canoe would have taken a horse to get it in.👏

Great scenery and country.

My Father and Mother-in-law lived in  Buffalo , so I know that area from Sheridan to Gillette rather well.😁

You were camping In West Ten Sleep-- then came back East  through Buffalo to I-90. Should have spent a night at Meadow Lark on the south side,

Looks from the photo's all had fun --even the pooch!😁

    • SM is in the game now too. Good- it has a pilot point. Bad- it has Lazer blades. Probably won’t be good in a permanent house for reopening holes. I sure wish Eskimo would wake up and add a point.
    • Perfect live in cambridge will get to you after you get back. Thanks
    • Just killing the smallies this morning. First three fish were 16, 14, and 14.  Two weekend ago caught 5 in an hour. Smallest was 12 inches.
    • Won't work! I have an electric heater in my 6.5' x 12' "non sleeper" wheel house, 3" insulated top, sides & bottom, tyvek wrapped. Electric heater's are 1,500 watt (leech post above). It takes about 3 hours to raise the temp from 0, or below to 60 deg. I plug it in at home the night before to pre heat the inside for next day fishing. Also get cabin/motel on overnight trips, and remove WH each night, plug in heater overnight clean fish and keep warm for next day.  The top shelf 2000 watt Honda @ $1,100 has a STARTING watt of 2000 & RUNNING watt of 1,600 watt. If I recall, you used pink poly hard foam on roof & sides with no insulation on floor. Pink Poly 2" is 7.5R for walls & roof, 0 on floor. My R factor is 13.5 fully insulated. Your electric heater will run 100% of time using Max power from a 2000 watt generator and be lucky to get above 50 deg. Last summer I put a 19,000 BTU Suburban $318.00 new in my house. At -14 deg. it ran 22 min per hour. I get about 65 hrs of fish time on a 20# tank at below 0 temps. Suburban price now gone up a bit but you can do better if you shop around. Electric heater in yellow circle
    • LED lights and newer tv will use very little electricity but unless your house is foamed tight from roof to floor do not even think it. You will be very slow to get to temp and have a tough time keeping it there. Buy a used small VENTED propane heater and be safe and warm. Used ones have to be at rummage sales for 50-100 bucks. Then buy the thru the wall or suburban style when you can afford it.

    • Impractable - your on Mille Lacs, sky getting dark, you pick up an AIS signal on your app 14 miles SW of your location heading north in your direction at 72 MPH. Amazed by the boat speed you call your buddy Joe one of two in MN who also has the AIS system & find out he is on 169 in his F150 heading to Leach, just forgot to turn off his chart plotter after bragging about his new $900 AIS with his neighbor before leaving home, you know the guy that has to have every electronic available. All those dozen or so guys in there 14' Lunds cranked up there Scott Attwaters and are heading to shore at the frightening speed of 4 MPH trying to beat the on-coming storm and 4' waves. They really have no desire for those newfangled useless things.

    • One more REPRESENT.  Too hot for the hoody. 😓   The winds got up on Erie too much to make a good run to better water but we still wanted to fish.  We hung around the breakwalls and got sheepies and smallies.  No matter what we caught was going to be C&R for me so a bunch of these were fine.   And a quick shot of the falls.  That water is moving incredibly fast!   Almost done with the loop.  I’m coming back on the Canadian side of the Great Lakes.  There are some really beautiful areas up here.   BTW, the section of NY State from the Allegheny Mountains to Buffalo made me feel at home.  Very similar to areas of MN.  I guess that’s why people like it so much!
