Archerysniper
I have a 53 evinrude 3hp that I got at a auction, I need to know what oil and mix ratio to use in it. I'm going to be usinging it on my 14' Grumman square stern for duck hunting when I'm in open water. Any suggestions?
leech~~
Fuel/Oil mix: 24:1 87 octane gas to TC-W3 outboard oil
hamms-scooter
My 54 Johnson 5.5 is a 16:1 ratio. 1 qt oil to 4 gal gas. That tank is small but nicely built in. I love those old motors.
Capt. H (Ret.)
Contact Evinrude. I'll bet they will have some information.

redneckdan
24:1 at the very leanest.16:1 is a lot safer. These motors run plain bearings and need lots of oil to function correctly. It will foul plugs but you will get longer life.
Kettle
I owned one up till last weekend, someone smashed the glass on my topper and took it. I think mine was around 1960. Ran it at 24 to 1 with standard unleaded.Kettle
