Recommended Posts

Any reports on the So.Dak. ducks and geese ? Leaving on the 25th for the week around the Webster area. Looking to do mostly field hunting but like to work the ponds a bit also.

Best report you will get now is that it will be totally different on the 25th! laugh

Good Luck!

Bring lots of gas money, and don't plan on seeing big clouds of mallards. I talked with a handful of hunters while working in northeast SD the past 3 days; most are doing one of 3 things: hunting geese, hunting fields between two or more roosts, or hunting divers. 150-500 mallards hitting a field right now is a good feed. Bring a walleye rod and some rapalas. Bring some orange and some lead. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the info. We always bring the fishing rods and the eye bite is great. So looking forward to leaving sat. and just hanging out with my bro and some friends. Hoping the birds will be there, but truly doesn't matter.
