crawfish color stages

Does anyone know if crayfish go thru color changes from spring-summer-fall? Also, what color are they before, during, and after molting (shedding of old shell). Want to see if presenting correct colors during their phases increases strikes.

I have several crayfish in an aquarium in my room right now. When i caught them out of the lake last weekend they were all brown, but now that the water they are in has gotten warmer, they are red with blue on the tips of their claws......

I snagged a piece of carpet in the Rum River a few years back. On there was a tiny ALL GREEN crayfish. It was a baby, but I thought that was odd that it was all green.

On MilleLacs last year we were in the shallows chasing them (get outa the sun too) I saw a few different colors. Mostly red, but some orange, and yup even kinda blue. Some were multi colored.

We tried using them as bait. I think I caught 1 smallie.
