Cherry Creek Fishing Report 4-30-2014

Recommended Posts

The Colorado Walleye Association held a tournament at Cherry Creek Reservoir last weekend and here is the report.

The fish are still in the basin and limited numbers of fish are moving up onto structure during the day. This makes targeting the fish tough with jigs and lindy rigs but lead core trolling the basin produced fish both days for most teams. Small #5 crankbaits worked in various colors presented on the bottom with excellent speed and lure control needed to consistently hook and land the fish.

Night fishing is excellent as the fish head towards warmer mud bottoms and feed in the evenings and into the night on crankbaits such as Smithwick Rogues, Rapala Husky Jerks, and Storm Thundersticks.
