A guy I used to fish with, now deceased, had one on his boat to help with loading because he had COPD and a bad heart. The winch worked fine. His was one speed and the boat came up the trailer fast so there wasn't much room for error. A few times his boat came up crooked and it was a pain to get it off the trailer and back in the water for a second attempt.

Personally I think that unless the trailer has bunks or is an old style roller, boats are simple enough to power load or crank on unless it's on a very steep ramp.
