Anybody familiar with Diawa Laxa 300?

I've been curious about these but they're too new and not a lot of reviews. In the catalogs they seem to be in the $179-$199 range but the internet is flooded with brand new ones for around $135. They couldn't have changed that much in one year could they or were there a lot of problems when they first came out? It just seems like too big a difference in price. Anybody have any answers? All the specs seem great, they even look like a good northern reel to me.

I just looked up Lexa repair kit and it seems they have a bearing problem.

They're very good reels. The Thorne Bro's muskie guys had a lot of input in the design. Very well built. I think the Curado 300 is more comfortable, but the Lexa 300 has the easy adjusting magnetic braking vs centrifugal pegs in the Curado . My buddy rocked a Lexa 300 all last year for bass and muskies and had zero complaints.

Hopefully these push Shimano to update the 300.

This is my "go to" Muskie reel as for the money I think it is the best reel out there and very comfortable to fish given its power and line capacity.

I did end up buying one from the auction site because nobody carried them around here. I will say it was pretty much perfect size I was looking for but have'nt used it yet.They are remarkably inexpensive on the auction place compared to retail.

I picked on up for under $100 for muskies this year, I have played around with it a bit just testing it out and so far im impressed
