Hey nice catch! I have caught numbers of rock bass in the 1.5lb range but not yet 2lbs.
Adam is right, the state record is as follows:
Species lbs lenght/girth
Rock Bass 2-0 13.5 / 12.5 Osakis Lake Todd County 05/10/1998

Interesting topic here.......I think I may have been darn close to a record last year on Mille Lacs. The thing was so big I had trouble identifying what it was....downright ugly, it was.

I got a great story about a possible state record rock bass. When I was younger (like 17 or so), I caught a big rock bass up on Kitchi Lake (which is connected to Cass). I bet it was about two pounds. My buddy and I took it in to a bait shop in Pennington to get it weighed and the old timer looked at it and laughed us out of the store and wouldn't weigh it. I ended up giving it to my buddy's Grandpa who ended up eatin' the critter. Then a couple of years later, I was looking in the fishing reg's book and noticed the record rock is 2#. If only that guy would have weighed it, I may be famous...
