Hand Laid Carbon Fiber Ultra-Light Spinning Rod

Recommended Posts

Good questions. The grips are made on mandrels. The carbon is bedded over 6# foam that I turn to shape on a lathe. The reel seat on this one is a little tricky. Its a combination of a modified tube reel seat and foam that is bedded with carbon.

Very cool. I've done some carbon, but never that thin on the handle. There can't be much foam left, but I'm guessing there isn't much needed as the CF is really all you need. I still don't know how you can make such nice neat edges on the reel seat, but that's ok. Very nice work Wolfram.
