FLW to BASS

Does anybody else notice there are a large group of former FLW pro's fishing in the BASS Elite series this year? I wonder if they're fishing both or switched over the past year?

They probably stand to make more $$ from individual sponsors over the FLW team deals they're offered. And likely less obligations.

FLW is the Minor leagues and the Elites is the Major Leagues.

As an Elite you have more control over your money making ability.

A lot of B.A.S.S. Pro's are fishing FLW this year. Ashley, Hackney, Herren, Kennedy, Ish, Boom Boom and Williamson are fishing both and Quinn, Rheem, switched tours.

Tharp, Hite, Montgomery and Christie are fishing both. Powroznik, Browne, Morganthaler, Pirch, Lucas, and Hawk all switched to B.A.S.S.

For a lot of the guys there is not enough money to be made fishing the limited amount of tournaments offered in one of them. This has made a lot of guys to want to fish both.

I would think guys in the BASS circuit could just fish a bunch of the OPENS as well to get "supplemental" income if that is the thought. I know a bunch of them fish the Opens anyways as it is another shot at the Classic if they win won.

I really disagree that FLW is the minor leagues. Tharp, Brett Hite, Thrift, Morganthaler are as good as anybody. The two big pro series are both loaded with talent and you don't see the many Elite anglers regularly fishing the FLW dominating those tourneys.

Its like the old AFL vs NFL there wasn't near the gap between talent pools anybody thought initially and that quickly proved itself.

agree 100%.... Luke Clausen even won the classic a few years back. Brent Ehler beat all the Elite guys in the first Major League fishing event on Amistad.
