Night crappies

It really depends on the time of year, I like weedlines or structure up off of the basins especially inside turns. I haven't been out in a couple weeks though. I would look toward green weeds or anywhere with an oxygen source with all of the snow we've had this year.

The basin areas are easiest to find fish as you will see them suspended from just below the ice all the way to the bottom. I like to work the deep weedline edges in close proximity to deep water for those night bite fish. I get out an hour or two before dark and drill a series of holes along the weedline and out into the basin and then commence hole hopping looking for active fish. I will even run a string of a few holes right up into the weeds which gives me a shot at gills as well as crappies. The shallower spots in and along the weeds might not show much on electronics initially but seem to come alive as the sun sets.
