Bog or Muck rubber boots

that_guy

Question

Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing one of these two brands and would like to hear about the durability and warmth people have experienced in these boots.

The two specific models that I'm considering are the:

Muck "MuckMaster" and the Bogs "world slam hunting boot"

I intend on wearing them ice fishing, waterfowl hunting, deer hunting and for my early/late season open water excursions. Essentially temps ranging from -30 to 60.

I'm well versed in the practice of wearing quality socks, I'm just really curious how the neoprene/rubber holds up long term and keeps the toes toasty.

I have the muck uplander 10"boot. I bought then strictly for pheasant hunting, but they doubled as an Ice fishing boot. Not the warmest for just sitting on the ice but I can't say enough good things about them in the field. I would think if you got a muck boot more for Ice fishing and such they would be awesome

I will second the muck artic's are super warm, if I was going to buy another pair of mucks for the sole purpose of deer hunting, I would go with the woodlands. My buddy has the woodlands and that is all he wears for hunting, mine would be too hot for doing drives.
