Broke my clam pop up

Bought a clam base camp last week and took it out the first time on Saturday. I was very happy when I was using it, but when i went to fold it up, a piece of plastic broke off the end of the pole that goes into the "hub". I left a message today for Clam to try to get a replacement part.

Does anyone have any experience with Clam's customer service? Hopefully I wont have to pay for anything since it was the first time I took it out. Thanks!

it will be under warranty. the best and fastest way to get this taken care of is to drive to Rogers and bring it right to the Clam offices/warehouse. you could also PM Matt Johnson on here since he is with Clam and could help you out.

Seems to me that hub shelters just don't hold up very well. I've personally seen 2 eskimos and one frabill that have broken. They all seem to have the same problem. The plastic breaks where the poles attach to the hub. Seems like they would have that problem solved by now.

All the broken pop up reports surprises me. I have a two man that I've had for 8 yrs. it seems like the same parts keep breaking. I've fixed mine, an easy fix but none of my parts were plastic. My shelter is a black one which was made by Eastman Outfitters seems like it held up well compared to the new ones. The windows cracked on mine so I replaced them with the ones Eastman sent me, new ones are attached with Velcro. The new poles they sent me a few years ago were also metal but made better have not broken since. About 5 years ago I bought a 4 man Eastman Ice Cube pop up and have had zero problems with it. Their cost at the time was cheaper than the other brands out there also. Below is a picture of the new 5 year old design of my 4 man shelter. full-44005-42967-image.jpg
