how much gas does a generator use?

We are renting a sleeper house this weekend in SD and we are bringing our own generator for power. A friend of mine is borrowing one from a co worker, and we are very inexperienced with them. We are wondering how much gas we have to bring with for a 48 hour trip? I'm not sure the size of the generator or if that makes a big difference or not. It is 4 guys in a 8 by 16 house if that helps. All depends on what you are running during day your really wont need it. What size it is and how old

2 of his friends are 250lbs plus and the third is a 180lb 6 foot stick. They are all in their mid 30's.....OH...how big and old is the "generator"....sorry.

Find out how many watts the genny is, brand and approx years old.

My Honda EU2000 uses 1 Gallon per 4 hours under full load, or 1 Gallon per 12 hours under light load (eco)

My 2200 Honda uses a tank about every 14hrs plus running full bore . Like as has been mentioned brands and size and how much your drawing is a clue we need to know .

Anywhere from 12-14 hours per gallon on the Honda and Yamaha, up to 6 gallons+ per day with some of the cheap "champion" generators.
