Now is the time to get out there and catch some hawgs! You don't need a lot of rods or lures right now, just take one with a spinnerbait, one with a buzzbait, and one with a jig. That's all you need for all day action.
Where to fish. This time of year, bulrush beds can be fantastic. They are easy to fish also. Spinnerbaits or buzzbaits can cover a lot of water very quickly, and don't just fish the edge of the rushes, get back in there. Also, look for any remaining green weeds (there should still be plenty)on flats. Milfoil has been holding some BIG fish. Fish your jig in the pockets and hold on! Look for points, inside turns or anything that is slightly different than the rest of the weeds on the flat. These areas will hold the most fish.
It's getting colder, winter is on the way, but there is still plenty of time to get out there and catch the biggest bass of the year! Good luck and tight lines!
