Turkey Broadheads?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what Broadheads you archery guys use on turkeys and the draw weight you like to set your bow at. I will be using my bow this spring to hopefully get my first archery turkey.

Thanks

Whatever you're currently using for deer will work just fine for turkeys, however for best results, I believe a large diameter 3 blade mechanical is the best choice. Brand names? Take your pick.

I use the same set up as I do deer like DonBo said. For me its 100gr Slick Tricks and my bow set at approx. 50-55 lbs. Not a fan of mechanicals for anything but they do work for some people. Small vitals on a turkey and using mechanicals will give you a little more breathing room for error on the shot. I may try Magnus Bullheads this year though once I pick up my new bow.

I have had good luck using nap gobbler getters. I really like the round nose on them, it really hits them hard with a large cut when they open up. I shoot the same poundage as I use for deer and elk.
