Alexandria area smallmouth and largemouth?

Hey guys...I have never fished any of the lakes around the Alexandria area. I'm trying to get a group of families together to rent a cabin Labor day weekend around the area. Are there lakes in the area that have both largemouth and smallies? What are some good recommendations for some lakes to stay on. Im sure there are a bunch but I really don't have any clue which are the best.

Ida is a good choice. You will catch a TON of bass. Not many big ones, but as many 14" bass as you want

We've got a place on Ida, tons of bass in there. Got a nice 18.5" smallie out there over the 4th. Plenty of large mouth and rockys to keep you busy all day.

Ida or Minnewaska are the only choices for smallies unless you want to head farther west into otter tail county. Miltona has a growing population but it could take you a while to find them.

The chain (le homme dieu) has some too, but they're about as hard to find as the tonka smallies. Good luck!

Minnewaska for sure, just south of Alex a short distance. Great SM and LM plus good pan fishing for a big fry with the family.
