Got one as a gift wondering if I should use if for ski's or return it for something else worth about the same price? From the reviews I read online it sounds like its a saltwater reel. Suggesting a please. Thanks.

I've got one I use for musky fishing, but I don't use it more than 10 or 20 times a year for the past couple years.

I like it, but there are better reels out there. The reels I like better, however, cost a good deal more.

Pay the extra 40 dollars and get the record with the power handle.. I put more money into a 7000i than it was worth ($150) before retiring it this season.

Decent reel, I have a toro and calcutta. The 7000 is a big reel, so for a medium size guy it's big. Casting alot gets cumbersome. But it has a lot of torque. I use mine mostly for trolling, when fish on, it does a great job.
