MNCPRGUY
Shooting a 20 ga Mossberg and a 12 ga Remington, both with rifled barrels. What are my cheapest options for target shooting at the range? Do I have to shoot sabots or can I shoot the cheaper slugs also?
PurpleFloyd
For just plinking and generally getting used to the gun you can shoot anything but my experience is slug guns shoot different slugs differently and when it comes to dialing it in you should shoot what you will use. picksbigwagon
I wouldn't shoot foster style (normally listed as rifled) slugs through a rifled barrel. It will create lead deposits in your rifled slug barrel which take time to scrub out. Either put the bird barrel on and shoot the rifled slugs or bite the bullet and shoot the sabot slugs that your rifled sug barrel is designed to shoot
MNCPRGUY
If you shoot fosters out of the bird barrel, does it matter what you have in it for a choke?

HNTNBUX
Dry fire practice and .22 rifle. All the same fundamentals other than knowing the trajectory of the specific ammo your going to use.
