BrandonJ
Can't go wrong with minnows, especially if you have "knight" crawlers those are hard to come by. Word
mainbutter
Cut bait (chunks of fish flesh) is fantastic for channel kitties. I've had decent luck on cut sucker. Match the size of the bait to the size of your hooks. You can cut up a big sucker into more pieces or a little sucker into smaller pieces. Shack
The biggest channels I have seen caught around the Metro have come from a big ball of crawlers. Never underestimate the power of 3 or 4 crawlers on a 3/0-6/0 circle.
Rick G
At this time of year Krawlers are still king At other times liver, shrimp or minnows will work better.

Gordie
If you can find them the channels on the sippi love leopard frogs and cut sucker is always a sure bet. The old stand by is chicken liver too.
LPCrowRiverFisherman
While we are on the subject. Gordie, use a comma, they make reading and understanding much easier. Back on subject, I usually stick with cutbait, my favorite is cut creek chub. If times are hard and I don't have creek chub I will try to find some frogs. I have also been experimenting with birds, I have tried rotten pheasant and mourning dove. The birds can either be plain or mixed with sauces such as BBQ, steak sauce, teriyaki, or maybe your choice of cheap booze, just add a little of the booze.
